Antonio W. Green

Antonio W. Green (Tony, Chief), age 53, of Columbus, OH passed away Saturday, March 27, 2021 at 1:19 AM following a long battle with Asthma/COPD at Mount Carmel East Hospital. He was born on February 20, 1968 in Muskegon, MI at Hackley Hospital.

Antonio is survived by his loving mother, friend, and caregiver, Ms. Virginia A. Green; loving brother, Daniel Green; aunts, Ms. Lucy J. Cisneros, of Columbus, OH, Mrs. Irma (Alex) Ramey, of Chillicothe, OH and Mrs. Rebecca (David) Jackson, of Laurel, MD; uncles, Pastor Ruben (Diane) Cisneros, of Howard City, MI and Mr. Robert Rivera, of Lexington, MI; nieces, Alison, Ashlee, Alexis; special nephews, Mr. Adrian (Olivia) Meade, and Mason L. Green, nephews, Gavin and Jaxon; special loving cousin, Mrs. Melissa (Jacey) Strickler; cousins, Reece Christian, Ethan Riley Strickler, Ruben (Michelle) Michael, Mark (Lorna), Israel, Gabriel & Molly Cisneros, Ryan, Megan, Amanda, Matthew Jackson, Corey (Sarah), Joel (Ali), Tyler (Amber) Thompson, Landon, and Eli Ramey; special friends, Cjon Saulsberry, of CA, Mrs. Amy Sawyer, of PA, Diane Cisco, of WV, Sylvia Skellenger, of TX, Mrs. Mary Richards, of AZ, as well as Savannah and Breanna Hess, of Columbus, OH.

He was preceded in passing by his aunt, Elizabeth J. Rivera; grandmother, Mrs. Rebecca Rivera; and grandfather, Mr. Domingo Rivera.

Mr. Green was a Christian man who had a relationship with our Lord and Savior. He had a big heart and was truly a genuine person. Antonio spent his working years in various retail positions from 1987-1990. In his last job position he worked for National City Bank as a courier. Antonio lived in Muskegon, MI from 1968-1973, then to Croswell, MI from 1973-1978 and finally came to Columbus, OH in 1978.

Antonio enjoyed bowling, baseball, football, swimming, playing pool, and reading. He loved to watch comedies and the National Geographic channel. Antonio always had an eagerness to learn anything new that he could and he was knowledgeable in a lot of different areas.

One of Antonio’s proudest achievements was becoming an uncle. He enjoyed having so many young cousins to spend time with, and they all gravitated towards him; he was a mentor to all.

A celebration of life will take place on Saturday, April 10, 2021 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High St. Columbus, OH. The service will be live streamed on Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society Facebook page at the start time:

    The Green family have long been friends of mine. Tony was such a great guy and I always enjoyed hanging out with him, Danny and Virginia. I will miss his smile and humor. What a caring person he was. Now who will save Danny from the spiders in the doorway late at night!?!?!
