Bernard James Critchlow, age 73, of Las Vegas, NV passed away on Sunday, April 18, 2021 following an extended illness. The son of Gerald and Francis Critchlow, he was born on January 12, 1947 in Brooklyn, NY. On November 16, 1968 he married LaVerne Green at the home of his parents in St. Albans, NY.
Surviving are his children, Tonya Poli and Eric Critchlow; sisters, Yvonne, Winifred and Pamela; grandchildren, Cree Sisco, Eric Henny, James Critchlow, Kenny Critchlow and Naomi Daniels; great-grandchildren, Mavick and Serenity Wyatt.
He was preceded in passing by his parents, Gerald and Francis Critchlow; son, Bernard James Critchlow II and his brother, Jerry Critchlow.
Bernard was a narcotics corrections officer and worked in the NY Corrections department for over 20 years. He also worked for home security in Las Vegas, NV. Bernard lived in Brooklyn, NY; Queens, NY; New Jersey; Orange County, NY; Columbus, OH and Las Vegas, NV.
He enjoyed singing, acting, modeling, photography and sales. His proudest achievements were making a record and putting together many photo albums. Bernard was a very proud, fun loving, wonderful person who will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will take place at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High St. Columbus, OH on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 12:00 p.m., where a visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Sharron Tucker will be officiating the service. A repast will take place at Friendship Park, 150 Oklahoma Ave. Gahanna, OH following the service.
