Bonnie Jean Miller, age 93, of Columbus passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Kobacker House. Bonnie was born in Zanesville, Ohio on December 22, 1923 to Hazel and Roy Butler Sr. In 1946, Bonnie began taking flying lessons and received her private pilots license in 1947. She was the first woman in Zanesville to obtain her pilots license. Bonnie flew in several International Air Races. She was a lifetime member of the Ninety-Nines, an international organization of women pilots.Bonnie was preceded in death by her husband Lee Miller, a sister Erma Drake, and a brother Roy Butler Jr. She is survived by three nieces: Dr. Charlene Archibeque, Joyce (Maynard) Stump, and Darla (Mike) Montgomery; 6 great nieces and nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews, and 5 great great-great nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017, at 11:00am in the chapel of the mausoleum at Forest Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Kobacker House at 800 McConnell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
