David Allen King

David Allen King, age 66, of Columbus, Ohio died September 7, 2020 at the OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital following a brief illness.  He was born on August 20, 1954 in Grove City, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Robert G. King and Bernice Louise Mason.  David will be forever remembered by his children, David (Chelsea) and Dani (Rachelle); he will also be fondly remembered by his siblings, Bob and Sam.  David was preceded in death by his older brothers, Dick, Bill and Ralph.  David was born and raised in Western Pennsylvania.  After a long road trip as a young adult, David spent some time in Denver during the mid-1970’s, eventually settling in Central Ohio to raise a family.  David graduated from Grove City Area High School in 1973 and later attended Penn State University and Clarion University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated in 1981 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology.  He then attended Slippery Rock University where he graduated in 1984 with a Master of Arts in Student Personnel.  In his spare time, David loved camping, playing golf, spending time with his family and friends, and cheering on all his favorite Pittsburgh sports teams; “Go Steelers!”  Thank you to the Riverside Methodist Hospital team for exceptional care and always going out of their way to make our family feel comforted during each hospital visit.

Dave was one of the craziest ( in the best of ways) guys that I have had the pleasure of knowing and having some great times together with. His time here was too short and he will surely be missed. My heart felt sorrows to the family.

  • Gordon Baker says:

My condolences to Dave’s family. I will remember all the good times I had with Dave. It was a pleasure to have known him as there was always a laugh or two when you were in his company. May he rest in peace.
