David E. Smith, Sr.

David E. Smith, Sr., age 85, of Greenfield, Ohio was re-joined with his loving wife on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home.

He is survived by daughters, Kathy Webb and Mary (Steve) Webb; step-daughter, Mickey (Jim) Fultz; grandchildren, Larry (Brittnee) Rowe, Soni (Mark) Grady, Summer (Rob) Spears, John Smith, Sierra Parham, and Shannon Grady; beloved great-grandchildren, Lexi (David), Gracie (Eric), Emma, Steven, Nick, Cheyanne, Kristian; great-great-grandchildren, Jacob and Killian.  David was preceded in death by son, David Smith, Jr. and grandson, Joshua Smith.

David was a proud 69-year member of the Iron Workers Local Union #172 and loved to share stories of the brotherhood and construction of many of the skyscrapers and bridges we still enjoy today.  Widely known in the CB radio community by his handle “Trap Shooter”; as a young man, he enjoyed hunting and was an accomplished Trap Shooter.

A get-it-done guy who was capable of building or fixing anything thrown his way.  David preferred a simple life and a small crowd, but dearly loved and treasured the company of those closest to him, especially that of his late wife Dora, whom he longed to be with as soon as his work here was complete.

Per his wishes, there will be no viewing or ceremony.  Please visit www.OhioCremation.org to leave the family an online condolence.

Kathy and the rest of the family.
I got the pleasure and the honor of starting an IV on David when came to the hospital I work. He was more nervous about the IV more so than anything else. I assured him I was his gal…I told him to relax. I made him a deal and I stuck to it. I got his IV in on 1 stick like a promised. After that I was his night in shining armor. I wish had the pleasure of knowing him for more than just that one day. He seemed to be a kind and gwntile man. I am so sorry for your loss. Kathy you hang in there…you are a strong person. I can tell that from a few conversations we had that day. L
