David R. Stroop

David R. Stroop, age 72, of Columbus, Ohio, (formerly of Xenia, Ohio), died May 11, 2020 at Riverside Methodist Hospital following a short illness.  He was born on December 23, 1947 in Daingerfield, Texas to the late Albert P. Stroop and Frances A. (Renshaw) Stroop.  David is survived by his siblings, Catherine M. Stroop, Albert B. Stroop and Robert C. Stroop; special friends, Jeanette Holpp and Bill Moore.  David worked throughout his career for SMobile Systems, American Heuristks, Applied Performance Technologies, MCI World Comm, Compuserve, and Acutote.  He attended the Church of Christ at Fishinger and Kenny Roads in Columbus, Ohio.  David enjoyed biking, singing, photography, computers, Bible Study, and hiking.  The family would like to extend a special thank you to Anna Schimizze and Taresa West.  A Memorial Service will take place at a later date.  Contributions can be made in David’s memory to Fort Hill Christian Youth Camp, 13500 Fort Hill Road, Hillsboro, Ohio 45133.  Please visit to leave the family an online condolence.

    We are so sorry for your loss. David will be missed by our church family. We enjoyed having him at Fort Hill camp these past few years and we always enjoyed him leading the Fish Singers group for our Holiday dinners.
