Donald H. McPherson

Donald H. McPherson, born on May 1, 1934, passed on June 17, 2020 at Hospice of Central Ohio. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur D and Mildred McPherson; his siblings Arthur G, and Charles Edwin McPherson and Dea Sue Loofbourrow. Survived by wife Sharon Neff McPherson; and children Tami (Warren) Planitzer, Lisa (Durward) Rupe, David (Kim) McPherson, Brad (Jeanette) McPherson and Kelly (Todd) Enderson; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren; and of course his loving and faithful dog Maggie.  Don was a graduate of Athens High School and Ohio Northern College of Pharmacy.  His memberships include Madison Lodge number 221 of West Jefferson, Ohio; Scottish Rite Valley of Columbus; the Hocking County Shrine Club; and Glenwood United Methodist Church. The family wishes to thank the many health care professionals from Hospice of Central Ohio, Fairhope Hospice and the Ohio State Wexner Medical Center. At the request of the deceased, cremation will take place at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society and no service is planned at this time.  Anyone wishing to make a donation in Don’s name, please consider the American Heart Association or an organization of your choice.  Please visit to leave his family an online condolence.

    My deepest sympathy to Dons family. I knew Don, also known as “Mac”, and worked with him at Fruth Pharmacy in Nelsonville. He was a good pharmacist. His old customers will also miss him as he was always so nice to them. Mac was just a really great person.
