Eldon Wesley Brum

Eldon Wesley Brum, age 85, of Powell, OH passed away on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at the Kobacker House following a struggle with dementia and heart failure. The son of Edwin Brum and Louisa (Hartshorn) Brum, he was born on December 31, 1935 in Marietta, OH. On December 28, 1963 he married Bertha Skaggs at the Mechanicsburg, OH Methodist Church; together they shared 57 years of marriage.

Eldon earned his PhD in Dairy Science from The Ohio State University where he did research for the USDA. He later worked for Borden Dairy.  He also earned his Master Gardening title. His favorite pastimes include hiking at Yellow Springs, teaching his grandchildren to play chess, playing cards with family, and working in his garden.

Surviving are his wife Bertha (Skaggs) Brum; sisters, Joan (Brum) Rose and Rosalie (Brum) Karunas; daughters, Heidi Brum and Fian (Brum) Kunesh; and grandchildren, Kaela, Kevin, and Linnea Kunesh.

A celebration of life will be held on July 24, 2021 at 11:00 AM at Saint Andrew Christian Church at 1985 Swansford Drive in Dublin, Ohio. The family will receive visitors at 10 AM. A lunch will be served after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to OhioHealth Hospice at:
