Eleanor May Borem, age 75, of Mt. Vernon, OH, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 at Knox Community Hospital. She was born on November 11, 1943 in Huntington, WV to the late Hilda Irene McGirr. She spent time living in Indiana, Germany, Georgia, and eventually settled in OH, where she raised her family. Eleanor worked as a medical office administrator within neuropathology and was a leader of local Girl Scout and Brownie Troops. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, gardening and shopping. She considered her most important roles to be that of wife, mother and grandmother. Her family describes her as the original “Momma Bear”, being fiercely loyal and protective of her children. She would be the first one there to defend them, no matter the circumstances.
She is survived by loving husband, Terry Borem, Sr.; son, Terry (Brianna) Borem, Jr.; daughters, Kimberley Hileman (Eric Haddox), Tina Borem. Grandchildren, Jacob, Lily, and Holden Borem; Cody and Tyler Hileman; Loving Aunt: Mary Cook along with many cousins and her many loving pets.
