Gail Lois Tanner


Gail Lois Tanner  age 72 of Columbus, died Monday October 11, 2021 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was born July 29, 1949 in Pinconning, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Renault) Provo. On June 13, 1970 she married M. James Tanner at the United Methodist Church. Gail is survived by her husband of 51 years M. James Tanner; sons: Paul Tanner and David (Valerie) Tanner; grandchildren: Chloe Tanner, Ryan Tanner, Rowan Tanner and Gary Calhoun. Gail is a member of the United Methodist Church a Sunday School teacher and member of the Plymouth Community Choir. Born in Pinconning, MI, Gail grew up in Garden City MI. She then grew her family in Plymouth and Livonia, MI. Gail was most proud of her family, her independence and her patriotism for her country. She loved reading, learning new things, sewing and especially spending time with her grandchildren. Gail had a way of teaching others and loved research. She was a fantastic cook and was always baking. Per her request, Services will be private. The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at Riverside Methodist Hospital for their excellent care and compassion.

    I remember the many ways Gail volunteered her time at Newburg UMC in Livonia.She was energetic, cheerful and genuinely liked people. May fond memories sustain her family at this sad time.
