Gail R. Schaffer

Gail R Schaffer, 75, of Loudonville, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2019 at

home after a period of declining health. He was born November 12, 1944 in Ashland, the son of Walter Clifford Schaffer and

Velma Mae (Lowe) Schaffer. He was a 1963 graduate of Loudonville High School. He served in the Ohio Army National Guard

for 6 years and was a member of the American Legion Post 257 of Loudonville.

He was a timber cutter for many years, retiring in 2006. He was an avid mushroom hunter

and loved deer hunting and fishing and he raised a beautiful garden every summer.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Avis (Fisher) Schaffer whom he married July 6, 1966,

two sons, Stacy (Vicki) Schaffer and Randy (Liz) Schaffer, 3 special grandchildren: Trish Kick, Carissa Schaffer and Randy

Duncan. He is survived also by 2 sisters, Idabelle Good and Alice Sanz (Doug Conrad) and 3 brothers, Ted (Debbie) Schaffer,

Tom (Sandy) Schaffer and Robert (Cathy) Schaffer. Also many loved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great,

great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son, Andy James Schaffer and 1 sister June Stake and 4 brothers,

Maurice, Gary, Walter Jr, and John.

There will be no service

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Ohio Hospice Life Care,

1900 Akron Rd, Wooster, Oh 44691 in Gail’s name.
