Harry M. Wise Jr.


Harry Mayo Wise Jr., age 87, of Sunbury, OH passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021. The son of Harry M. and Lucille Wise, he was born in Columbus, OH. Harry was lovoingly married to Mary Lou Wise for 64 years.

Surviving are his daughters, Karen (Dan) Ragland and Cindy Wise (Charlie Huhn); son, Danny (Carol) Wise; granddaughter’s, Shawna (Matt) Seebach and Amy (Dan) Stone; grandson’s, Bernie (Karrie) Smith and Greg (Christine) Wise; great-grandson’s, Jaden Davis, Waylon Wise and Daxon Stone; great-granddaughter’s, Alivia Stone, Maci Smith and Mckenna Smith; his dear sister, Audrey Phaff; as well as many nieces, nephews and family.

He was preceded in passing by his wife, Mary Lou Wise; daughter, Carol Byas; brother, Chuck Wise; and sisters, Dorothy, Martha and Rose.

Harry loved Hot-Rods and was a member of the Strokers Club. He loved going to the Sunbury Diner and loved the owners and staff there. He was an avid pie maker at “Wise Guy Pies” and had so many friends that he loved dearly. Please have a slice of pie or ice cream in memory of Harry.

A private family memorial service will take place at a later date.

    He will be missed! His sense of humor needs tucked in all of us. He loved everyone. Even my Mom , giving her advice after my Dad died in May. ***I cried when he did this a couple weeks ago. Prayers for healing to all the family. We will definitely eat a pie in his honor. Hugs, Mindy and Bret

    A true friend to me and my family from my youngest son who he would sit and draw pictures with and ask if he had a girlfriend yet. To my dad who was paralyzed and Harry took him out in his hot rod. I will always cherish the friendship and fun banter. Luv ya buddy….

    Mary and Harry took us in as family when we moved across the street from then many years ago. I believe there was no strangers to these two. We spent many of summers eve sitting on there porch and talking and many days with there grandson playing with our sons. So glad that in our life’s journey that we got to know the Wise’s.
