Henry Seiji Okuhara

Henry Seiji Okuhara, age 81, of Hilo, Hawaii died Friday, June 4, 2021 in New Albany, Ohio due to congestive heart failure, kidney failure and interstitial lung disease.  He was born on April 14, 1940 in Hilo, Hawaii, the son of the late Niichi Okuhara and Tomeko Kashiwagi.  On October 21, 1966, he married Norine Nagano at the Honpa Hongwanji Hilo Betsuin.  Together they shared 54 years.  Henry is survived by his wife, Norine Okuhara of Hilo, Hawaii; two daughters, Michelle (Neal) Palmquist of New Albany, Ohio and Caroline “Carrie” (Nico Hicks) Okuhara of Commerce City, Colorado; a brother, Thomas (Wanthani) Okuhara of Sarasota, Florida; three grandchildren, Madison Palmquist, Kanika Hicks, and Marvis Hicks, Jr.; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

Henry was a carpenter for Hawaiian Dredging and S.K. Oda, and a Carpenter Foreman for M Sonomura Contracting Co. for many years until his retirement.
