Imogene Cooper

Imogene Cooper, age 80, of Columbus, Ohio died November 13, 2017 at the home she shared with her daughter and son-in-law following a brief battle with cancer.  On March 28, 1937 she was born in Logan County, West Virginia, the daughter of the late Rupert Sturgell and Grace (Dillon) Sturgell.  Imogene is survived by her daughter, Robin (Kevin) Eddy; grandsons, Zachary Cooper, Donovan Fletcher, Brett Brewer and Bryce Eddy; great-grandson, Owen Brewer; step-granddaughters, Crystal and Ashley; step- great grandchildren, Lexi, Kady, Madison, Tony, Landon and Lylliah; brothers and sisters, Lillie Mae Sears, Ruth Ann Michaud, Gerline Lude, Archie Sturgell, Larry Sturgell, Colleen Perry and Denise Meade.  She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cooper.  Imogene was born and raised in rural West Virginia and was happiest when living in Kermit, W.Va. from 1979-1998.  Imogene was a business owner of My Brother’s Place while residing in Kermit and most recently retired from JMI Plastics.  From 1998 until her death, she lived in Columbus, Ohio where she moved to be close to her only daughter, Robin.  Imogene loved to find new treasures at her local thrift stores, eat out at nice restaurants and always had a cup of black coffee near by.  She loved babies and everyone knew to just bring them in and sit them on her lap.  Imogene was admired for her strong will and independence.  At her request, there will be no funeral.  Her family will plan a memorial at the home at a later date.  Please visit to leave the family an online condolence.
