James A. Simmons, Jr.

James A. Simmons, Jr. of Worthington, Ohio died on December 13, 2018 at age 85 years, 11 months and 2 days of complications due to perforated diverticulitis.  Our father is preceded in death by parents, James A. and Lucille Simmons; first wife, Orpha Simmons; brothers, William Simmons and Gene Simmons; sister, Carol Derham; brothers-in-law, John Luddy and Curtis Williams; and sister-in-law, Norma Luddy.  Jim is lovingly survived by his second wife, Hui Li; son, David Simmons; daughter, Suzanne Johnson; grandchildren, Amanda & Trava; sister, Jane Simmons; sister-in-law, Argiro Williams; numerous nephews and nieces; Mark Derham, Leslie Bistrek, Kelly Maine, Lori Atkinson, Jenny Henderson-Simmons, Mathew Simmons, Charles Barlow, Jeffrey Barlow, Daniel Barlow, Ann King, Diane Ingles, Curtis Williams, Jr. and Nick Luddy; and all the significant others that support them, we thank you.  An internment will take place on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11:30 AM at Kingwood Memorial Park, 8230 Columbus Pike (Rt. 23), Lewis Center, Ohio 43035.  A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00 PM at Worthington United Methodist Church, 600 High Street, Worthington, Ohio 43085.  A reception to immediately follow memorial service.  Please visit to leave the family an online condolence.
