John Raymond Cua, age 63, of Columbus, Ohio died July 26, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on November 1, 1956 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Elois Lefebure and Joseph Cua. John is survived by his first wife, Cathy Behrendt-Fleming, and their daughter, Anna Marie Cua. He is survived by his second wife, Linda Hughes-Cua, and their sons, Antonio JonReno (Amanda) Cua and Connor Joseph Cua; daughter, Ceelea Kathleen Cua; grandson, Lincoln Cua; and granddaughter, Ellie Cua. John is survived by his brothers and sisters, Michael Cua, Tom (Angela) Cua, Maggie (Casey) Flanagan, Jeanenne (Sam) Carfagna, Jennifer (Rusty) Staab, Chris (Debbie) Cua, Amy (Vinnie) Susi, Jamey (AnnaMaria) Cua, and Joseph (Alise) Cua; 32 nieces and nephews; 6 great-nieces and great-nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Elois Cua and his sister-in-law, Laura Cua. John owned a landscape construction company through the family business Cua’s of Columbus. He was a retired firefighter and paramedic from the City of Columbus and a home health aide to many. John also worked in construction for Cugini & Capoccia Builders in Lewis Center, Ohio. He attended weekly mass as a member of St. James the Less Catholic Church. John was a lifelong resident of Columbus and resided in the Linden area. He loved attending all of Columbus’ festivals and events, especially those with live music and dancing. John thrived for three days every year at The Italian Festival. He loved attending all the gatherings of his personal family and taking Sunday Brunch to the priest at St. James. Some of his proudest achievements were attending The Ohio State University and playing in the 1975 Spring Game under Woody Hayes, winning All State in 1974 his Senior Year at St. Charles and living everyday as it was the best day ever! John had a heart of gold and a type of energy God could only create once. He loved his children with all of his heart and would drop EVERYTHING to do ANYTHING for them. John was just a natural caretaker. John’s family would like to thank all the family and friends for the continued prayers and support; his special friend, Arnett Howard, there was no greater friend; companion, Tammi Collinsworth; and thank you to Jesus for loaning him to us and allowing us to witness his zest for life!
