Joseph F. Keifer age 95 passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at The Laurels of Norworth in Worthington, Ohio. He was born in Wellston, Ohio on May 8, 1922. He was married to the love of his life Rosemary for 71 wonderful years. Joe was an honorably discharged World War II Veteran who served proudly in the U.S. Navy as a Navy Flight Engineer. He was a founding member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where he remained an active member. He is predeceased by his parents Joseph, Sr. and Mary Keifer and son James. He is survived by his loving wife Rosemary, daughter Barbara (Joe Mathews), grandchildren, Joe (Brittany), Emily, Jennifer, Jeffrey and many special nieces and nephews. Joe loved life, his family and his friends. He never knew a stranger. He will forever by remembered as the greatest storyteller by everyone who knew him. The celebration of Joe’s life will be on Wednesday January 17, 2018 at 1:00 PM at the Resurrection Cemetery Chapel located at 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center, Ohio where the Reverend Thomas Petry, Pastor of St. Anthony Parish, will celebrate the Mass of the Christian Burial. Inurnment will follow immediately after the service. A very special thank you to Drs. Neil Richard and Kenneth Baker, the wonderful nursing and support staffs at The Laurels of Norworth and the National Church Residence Hospice for taking such wonderful and compassionate care of Joe.
