June C. Nowacki

June Carol Nowacki, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully at home June 19th. Born September 12, 1928 in Cleveland, Ohio to Evelyn and Floyd Schneerer.

June married her beloved husband Paul on August 13, 1949. They eventually settled in Worthington where they raised their children Paula and Craig. June was always active in church volunteering to teach Sunday School, help with youth group and Alter Guild. June found ways to always ‘give back’. She was among the first group of volunteers that formed the Worthington Thrift Shop 50 + years ago, raising money for the American Cancer Society. June along with her best friend Dottie are considered the matriarchs of the shop where Dottie still volunteers. June bowled on Wednesdays on the Early Bird Bowling League where lasting friendships evolved.

June is survived by her daughter, Paula (Dick) Bogan; son, Craig (Joyce); grandchildren, Sara Bogan (Chris) Wales, Nikolas (Jae Marie) Bogan, Kiera Nowacki and Jason Nowacki; great grandsons, Weston Wales and Alek, Kallen and Deklan Bogan.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on July 24th at All Saints Lutheran Church, 6770 N. High St. Worthington, where a luncheon will follow the celebration at the church.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to All Saints Lutheran church in June’s name.

    Craig & family,
Another of the old neighborhood, bowling, bridge & the notorious Thrift Shop crew leaves us. Always remember your mom’s cheerful spirit, & her mutual love for Euclid Beach. My heart goes out to you. Wish I could join you on the 24th, but I lost my hubby in May & his memorial service is planned later that day. You’re in my thoughts & prayers & may you find peace in your numerous precious memories of such a great lady.
    All my love, Lynn Church-Akin

    Dear Craig and Family,
Sending my deepest sympathy and prayers during this very sad time.
    Hugs to you,

  • Colleen Parkhill says:

June and I were both charter members of Worthington Thrift Shop and spent many, many hours together there over the years. She was a dear and special friend, and when I close my eyes I can see her and hear her voice, even though we haven’t seen one another for several years. We shared stories of our children as they were growing up, and she clearly adored Paula and Craig. I’m sure she has been an especially loving and devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. She was richly blessed, as were you. She has left a beautiful legacy.
