Leonard DeLong

Buddy “Leonard ” DeLong, age 95, of Westerville, OH passed away on August 21, 2017 at St. Ann’s Hospital. Proceeded in death by his loving wife, Eleanor “Nicky” (Steward) DeLong, mother, Florence (Peake) Fancher, step-father, Maurice Fancher and father Leonard DeLong. Survived by his daughters, Jody DeLong Jacks, Terri (Eric) Hall, granddaughter, Katie (Kyle Carpenter) DeLong, brother, Tommy (Diana) Fancher, sisters-in-law, Jeri Jenkins and Dee Steward, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and a host of friends. He was a decorated World War II Navy Veteran, serving in the Pacific Campaign.   When he returned, Buddy was the original owner and operator of Kitty Show Bar and the Top Steak House in Columbus.  He became a successful Bar Broker and was responsible for starting many Central Ohio clubs and businesses.  He was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and enjoyed playing golf and trips to the casino in his spare time. His greatest joy was being Kate’s Grandpa and a devoted family man. The family will receive friends September 9, 2017 at The Golf Club at Little Turtle, 5400 Little Turtle Way W., Westerville, OH, 43081 from 1:00 PM-4:00 PM with Military Honors to take place at 1:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Buddy’s name may be made to Homeless to Home Animal Rescue & Cat Sanctuary 1745 Marion Waldo Rd.
