Linda A. Smith, age 59, of Columbus, departed this life Sunday, August 27, 2017, at her residence. Retired from Columbus Development Center after 29 years of service. She was a hardworking ,independent, free-spirited woman who was known for her infectious laughter. Preceded in death by father, James Smith Sr., and mother, Katie Baptiste. Survived by devoted, partner and loving wife, Catherine Ross; brother, James “Jimi” Smith Jr.; sister, Angela (Michael) Gunn; stepmother, Martha Smith; cousin, Lorretta Barrio; sisters-in-law, Yolanda Redman, Rochelle Rensch and Leslie Porter; nieces, Darlene (Kd) Day, Stacey Redman, Lindsey Redman, Elizabeth Lawson and Victoria Rensch; nephews, Chris Bournea and Douglas Rensch; great niece, Destiny Rice;  great nephews, Darryl Redman, Antwuan Hunter, Michael Day, Kevin Porter and Sean Day; special friends, John Flemon, Stephanie Joann France, Linda Riley, Crystal Carson, Robert Hampton, Lisa Sellers, Myra Brown, Lola Stidoms and LeAnn Rayburn. To honor and celebrate her life, family will receive friends from 10-11am Thursday, August 31, 2017 at the Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214.
