Linda Smith

Linda W. Smith, age 72, passed away on December 4, 2018 after a long and hard fought battle with cancer.  She passed away peacefully at her residence in Delaware Ohio with her loving husband at her side.

She was born on June 5, 1946 in Winamac Indiana, the daughter of Orlean Janasz and Walter Wisilinski.  She married Randall Smith on September 6, 1992 in Boynton Beach Florida. Together they shared 26 years of fabulous memories and adventures.

She is survived by her husband Randall Smith, her daughter Debbie Smith, her step daughters Stacy and Lisa Smith, her grandchildren Vincent, Kristina, Corey, Krystal, Anthony, Jackson, her step grandchild Austin, and her great grandchildren Tevin, Kameron, and Korbin.  She is preceded in death by her father Walter Wisilinski and her first husband Michael Smith.

She was an active member of St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lewis Center Ohio for many years, and St. Pauls Episcopal Church in Daphne Alabama prior to that.  She was also a very familiar face at SourcePoint, the Delaware Senior Center, where she gratefully gave her time as a volunteer in many of the center’s activities and taught many paper crafting classes.

Before retirement she spent many years as a computer programmer, systems analyst, and documentation specialist.  She also became a Stampin’ Up demonstrator in 2003 and continued giving paper craft and handmade card making classes right up to her passing.

Linda’s greatest love was SCUBA diving and her proudest achievement was when she earned her Advanced SCUBA diving certification.  She and her ‘dive buddy’ husband spent many memorable hours together underwater off the coast of South Florida, the Florida Keys, and Honduras, logging over 100 dives the last year she lived in Florida.

A celebration of life service will be held on a future date at St. Andrews Anglican Church in Lewis Center, Ohio.
