Lisa Renee Watson, age 59, of Columbus Ohio died on March 24, 2018. She is survived by her two sons, Channing and Cammeron, her mother Kay, sisters Laura and Linda and her two dogs Jack and Rocky. She is preceded in death by her father Jack Watson and step father James (Jim) Toney.
Lisa was born in Akron Ohio on November 26th 1958 to her parents, Kay and Jack Watson. They traveled the world with the Air Force for many years, from Laredo Texas to Okinawa Japan, finally settling in Central Ohio.
She earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from the Ohio State University. While working for the state as a social worker, she helped implement the scared straight program for troubled youth in Ohio.
Lisa was a kind soul with a big heart. Always ready to smile and give encouragement to those around her. She always found time to say hello to a stranger walking down the street or to tell a parent how cute their kid was. Although not rich, she made an effort to help those who were less fortunate than herself by collecting cans, donating old clothes, or simply giving words of encouragement to those who needed it.
She found peace in nature and the outdoors. As an avid angler, she shared her love of the outdoors with her two sons, teaching them how to fish and camp as children. Some of their fondest memories were at Lake Logan fishing, one of her favorite places on Earth.
She will be remembered by all of those that she touched thorough out her life. Her laughter, unconditional love, and selflessness will be missed by all those she left behind.
Family will receive friends from 2:00 PM~4:00 PM on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High St. Columbus, OH 43214.
