Mary Ellen Thomas, 81, of Cleveland, Ohio passed away Monday, November 16, 2020 of an illness in the home of her baby boy, Frankie D. surrounded by family.
Mary was born in Canton, Ohio to Wylean & Sula Thomas on April 19, 1939. She grew up and had two kids in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. Mary later made Cleveland her home and had one more child.
She was a member of the Rolls Royce Social Club and an avid CB Radio member for years by a well known name of “Misty Blue.” Mary was always the life of any social gathering and those that met her instantly loved her. She worked and retired from Interior Steel.
Mary moved to Dacula, Georgia and lived with her baby boy for three years and then relocated back to Cleveland due to missing family and friends. She moved to Mansfield, Ohio and resided with her oldest granddaughter, Nicole (Marvin T.) Owens and kids. Once she became ill, she moved with her baby boy Frank Thomas, who moved to Mansfield to be with her.
Mary is survived by her three wonderful kids, Dennis (Makeetha) Thomas of Cleveland, Ohio, Apostle D.D. (Kevyl) Taylor-Warner of Stone Mountain, Georgia and Frank (Dawn) Thomas of Mansfield, Ohio; brother Leroy Thomas; sisters Delores Smith, Barbara Thomas and Phyllis Hale all of Cleveland, Ohio; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and special nephews, Leroy “LeeLee” Thomas and Anthony Patrick.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister Jacqueline Thomas Patrick and a brother Stephen Thomas.
Mary’s wishes were to be cremated so just immediate family will be able to view her one last time. A Special Thank you to her oldest grandchildren Nicole & Damell Owens.
