Mary Lou Vishey

Mary Lou Vishey, age 82, of Charleston, S.C., passed away surrounded by her loving family at The Kobacker House on August 26, 2017.  She was born on January 12, 1935 in Columbus, Ohio.  Mary Lou is survived by her brother, Jerry Kuhlmann; sister, Susan Reichart; sons, Gregory and Joseph Vishey; daughters, Lonnie Millman, Dawn Vishey, Alexandra Petty and Suzanne Shealy; eleven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, Frederick Frank Kuhlmann and Marian Anna Peter.  Mary Lou was a member of the Huguenot Church of Charleston, S.C., Past President of Gilmore Academy Women’s Club, member of Women’s Republican Club of Charleston, S.C. and Tanglewood Country Club Women’s Group.  She had resided in Chagrin Falls, OH, Charleston, S.C., The Villages, FL and Columbus, OH.  Mary Lou was an excellent golfer, gourmet cook, and an accomplished seamstress of apparel and home décor.  She loved reading, studying history and traveled the world.  Mary Lou’s proudest achievements were raising her six children and becoming a talented golfer (A’Flight).  She had an infectious smile & laugh and entertained her family and friends with her dry sense of humor.  She was a joy to be around and will be missed by all who knew her.  A gathering will take place at OCMS, 5464 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214 on Wednesday, August 30, 2017 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Kobacker House, 800 McConell Drive, Columbus, OH 43214.
