Monnie Johnson-White was born November 18, 1973 in Columbus, Ohio. On Sunday, February 24, 2019 she passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer. Her testimony song was “No Weapon Formed Against Me Shall Prosper.”
Miss Monnie Johnson-White attended Northland High School and after graduation she went to Columbus State Community College. She was known as the “best dressed student” in school and for her charismatic personality. Monnie was a supervisor at Cardinal Health. She enjoyed singing, bowling and spending time with family and friends.
Monnie was preceded in death by her paternal mother Frances, husband Glenn and infant daughter Destiny.
She leaves to cherish parents Marvin R. Johnson and Delores Johnson of Columbus, Ohio; two loving sisters; Latissa Broom and Chana Johnson, two handsome brothers; Marvin (Marcia) Warren, and Chan Johnson all of Columbus, Ohio. Monnie is also survived by her special Aunt, Helyn Johnson, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; extended special aunts, Hilda Johnson, Virgileen Nesby, Swayzene (Elvren) Talley, Crystal Alshawa and Denna (Robert) Gooch all of Columbus, Ohio; nieces; Ashlee (Zack) Lawson, Davia Broom, Maliyah Johnson, Nikiah Johnson, Carra Johnson and Monroe Johnson all of Columbus, Ohio; nephews; Marvin E. Warren, DeShawn Broom, David Broom Jr. and Chan Johnson Jr. all of Columbus, Ohio; cousins; Dwight (Erika) Johnson, of Germany, Bradley Johnson, of Georgia, and Kevin (Rhonda) Johnson, Karen Thornhill, Yvette Gant, Wendell Johnson, Andre Johnson, and Nan Johnson, all of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Donald (Lillian) Card of North Carolina, Steve Johnson from Cleveland, Ohio; Guy A. Horton, Tia (Eric) Stewart, Macquinta Talley, Virnika Nesby, Chad (Monika) Talley, Yavin Alshawa and Reyna Gooch all from Columbus, Ohio. A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and special friend Robert Thompson who were all special to her.
A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. with a service to follow at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 2, 2019 at The Kings Arts Complex, 867 Mt. Vernon Avenue, Columbus, OH 43203. Pastor Christopher Green of the Promise Land Church of God will be officiating.
