Paul Hanson Long, age 60, of Mt. Gilead, passed away on Saturday, June 23rd, 2018 at The James Cancer Hospital following his courageous battle with the disease. He was born in Columbus, OH on June 1, 1958 to the late Hanson Lewis Long and Alene (Crowley) Long.
He is survived by daughter, Janet Lee (James Donald) Weaver; son, Michael Paul Long; daughter, Gwendllyn Shelby Elizabeth Long; sisters, Judy Jackson-Mealey and Barbara (Vernon) Coburn; brother, David (Alvina) Long; grandchildren, Nathan James Weaver, Joshua Hanson Weaver, Makayla Dawn Weaver, Kierstin Lee Weaver, Asher Long, Dylan Long, Alex Long and Tessa Long; as well as many extended family members and dear friends.
Paul worked as a Quality Control Manager for Able Roofing and formerly as a Sheet Metal Apprentice with Kemp Wholesale. He was also a former attendee of Rejoice Cathedral Church.
First and Foremost, Paul was a fun-loving family man who lived life on his own terms. He was a talented musician with a beautiful voice; he especially enjoyed strumming his guitar and playing the harmonica.
He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
Family will receive friends from 5pm-7pm on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at the Life Church of Easton, 5000 Sunbury Rd. Columbus, OH 43230 where a funeral service will be held at 7pm. Interment and Committal will take place at 10am the following day at Blendon Central Cemetery, 6330 S. Hempstead Rd., Westerville, OH 43081.
