Paul Louis Campbell age 96 of Columbus passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side in Columbus, Ohio on Thursday, August 24, 2017 at Wesley Glen.  He was born February 24, 1921 in Toledo, Ohio to parents Florence and Herbert Campbell.  Paul and Jeanne were married 73 years on October 9, 1943 at the Marine Base in Quantico, Va.  Preceded in death by parents, sister, Helen Jones and brother, Frank Campbell.  Paul was a graduate of the University of Toledo, served in the Marines, saw action in the Pacific Islands in WWII and the occupation of Japan at Nagasaki retiring as a Captain.  He retired after 44 years as Comptroller and CPA at Janitrol-Aero Division, Midland-Ross Corporation.  Paul played softball with the Upper Arlington Silver Bears, volunteered filing income taxes at Senior Centers and delivered Meals-on-Wheels for 25 years.  Paul was also an Eagle Scout.  Paul is survived by wife Jeanne, daughter, Susan (David) Arnold, Columbus; son, Robert (GeorgiAnne) Campbell, Boulder, CO; grandsons, Matthew (Melanie) Arnold, Columbus; Dr. Gregory (Kristin) Campbell, Omaha, NE;  and great-grandson, Ryland Arnold  and great-granddaughters, Ashley and Stefanie, Columbus and many nieces and nephews.  Brother, Leo, sisters, Mary Behrendt and Dorothy Campbell, Toledo.  A special thank you from the family to the Wesley Glen Special Care staff who took great care of Paul.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, September 11, 2017 at 1:00 P.M. at The Chapel at Resurrection Cemetery, 9571 North High Street, Lewis Center, OH.  Reception immediately following at Wesley Glen, 5155 N High St., Columbus.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Capital Area Humane Society, PO Box 21445, Columbus, OH  43221; or Meals-on-Wheels, 1699 W Mound St, Columbus, OH 43223.  Arrangements entrusted to Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society.
