Phyllis J. Trafzer-Hill, age 92, of Marion, Ohio died November 28, 2017 following a six year history of dementia. On February 11, 1925 she was born to the late Frank Bradley and Mildred (Lardinois) Bradley in Pontiac, Illinois. She married Samuel W. Trafzer on August 28, 1943 at First Methodist Church in Paris, Texas. Together they shared 54 years. Phyllis is survived by daughters, Judith Detwiler, Joanne Smith, Jerri New, Jacqueline Caillouette, Janice Smith, and Jennifer Stinson; son, James Trafzer; 20 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren and 3 great- great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by husband, Samuel W. Trafzer and second husband, James M. Hill. Phyllis worked for Paul Granger Real Estate for many years. She also owned businesses during her career of Trafzer Swimming Pools, Old House Beauty Salon and Stanley Home Copper Sales. At different stages of her life she resided in Pontiac, IL, Maysville, KY until the flood of 1937, Springfield, OH, Flint, MI and Marion, OH. Phyllis was active in helping the elderly at Emanuel and Timothy Lutheran Churches, loved playing cards with friends, reading, her CCL Group and her 1943 High School Class Reunions. She had a spunky attitude all her life, was hard working, always giving to others, a great salesperson, and the most patient, impatient person you could ever meet. Phyllis’ greatest joy and proudest achievement was her seven children, twenty grandchildren, thirty-seven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
