Richard David Lee, Jr., age 79, passed away on July 5, 2017 in Columbus, Ohio. He was born in Los Angeles, California on July 27, 1937 to the late Richard David Lee, Sr. and Bettye Montoya. Richard shared 36 wonderful years with his wife, Vanessa Rae (Tanner) Lee. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Lisa Whitney; and nephew, Bobby Gratton. Richard is survived by his loving wife, Vanessa Lee; children, Mario Keaton, Richard David Lee III, Alicia Raquel Lee, Jeff Lee, Richard David Lee IV, and Shawn Tanner; sisters, Carolyn Richards and Elizabeth (Tom) Rietz; mother-in-law, Janice Tanner; and numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Richard is a U.S. Army Veteran and proud to have served his country. He was a business owner and fiberglass technician. Richard was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Columbus, Ohio. He enjoyed playing the drums in a club band and taught dancing at Arthur Murray Studios. Richard was a fun loving soul with a great heart. He was a wonderful provider and devoted family man. He was truly loved and will be forever missed by all who knew him. A visitation will take place on Monday, July 10, 2017 from 2:00 PM – 5:00 PM with a service scheduled at 5:00 PM all being hosted at Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society, 5464 N. High Street, Columbus, Ohio 43214. An interment will be conducted the following day on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at Dayton National Cemetery, 4400 West Third Street, Dayton, Ohio 45428.
