Richard T. Garner, age 84 of Columbus, died Christmas Eve 2020 at his Westminster Thurber Residence after an extended illness that included Coronavirus. He was born April 1, 1936 in Highland Park Michigan to the late Frederick P and Mildred M. (Rock) Garner. He is preceded in death by his daughter Tammy Garner, survived by his son Thomas Garner, grandsons Trevor and Austin Garner, former wives Phyllis M. Nulty, Kathy Bohstedt and Tania Ramalho. Richard was a Professor at The Ohio State University, Department of Philosophy from 1963-1995 and an Adjunct Professor at Rutgers University, 2000-2005. He loved music, including playing the harpsichord. He had a passionate devotion to his work. An accomplished author, his last book on Moral Philosophy: The End of Morality: Taking Moral Abolitionism Seriously, (Edited together with Richard Joyce).
