Sally F. Gibler, age 77, of Columbus, passed away on the first day of Autumn, September 21, 2020 following a week long affliction with the Corona Virus. She was born on July 30, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Albert & Elizabeth Freeland. Sally earned two masters degrees and pursued a successful career as a certified clinical social worker. In December 1985, she married Leonard Stockman Gibler at the Unity Church of Christianity and together they shared 35 years of marriage. Sally enjoyed the study of world religions and was for 30 years a parishioner of St. John’s Episcopal Church of Worthington, Ohio and Parts Adjacent. In addition, for 40 years she was a staunch supporter of AA and Al-Anon. Sally will be remembered for her gentle inquiring spirit and will be missed by the many friends in her church family at St. John’s.
Sally was preceded in death by her beloved cousin, Sanna Ree, of Scotland, Indiana. Pets that she treasured and loved were Molly and Daisy, both Shetland Sheep Dogs, and Mr. Possum, a tomcat who was family as surely as any of us.
She is survived by her husband, Leonard; brother, John (Vickie) Freeland; niece, Emily Freeland; and nephews, William, & Jonathan Freeland.
