Steven E. Johnson


Steven E. Johnson, age 54, of Columbus, Ohio passed away Friday, November 29, 2019 at Grant Medical Center.  He was born on June 16, 1965 to his loving parents, Bruce Melvin Johnson and Belva Jean (Stout) Johnson.  Other than a short residence in Zanesville, Ohio, Steven spent his entire life living in the Columbus area.  He married his wife of 25 years, Cleida B. (Allen) Johnson on March 27, 1997.  Throughout Steve’s life, he had many jobs.  His work ethic was unmeasured.  His most memorable employment was with Columbus City Schools, working as a custodian.  Steven was a Christian and was a proud member of Pilgrim Baptist Church.  Steven was a proud husband and father and he had an unlimited love for his family.  He was always telling jokes.  Steve leaves precious memories to all who knew and loved him.  They will always remember his love for food, fishing, music, dancing, grilling, and of course, dogs.  Steven is survived by his loving wife, Cleida Johnson; sons, Steven and Brian; daughters, Shandi, Teah, Brittany, and Cheeawna; father, Bruce Melvin Johnson; sister, Davonna (Ray) Gordon; brothers, Andre, Jaesan and Chris; 26 grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, and a special cousin, David Stevens.  He was preceded in death by his mother, Belva; daughter, Terra; sister, Chandra; grandparents, Elmer and Mary; aunts, Ann Spratley and Christine (Oscar) Lee.  Steven’s family would like to thank everyone for their acts of kindness, encouragement, and love.  A visitation will be held at 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 5, 2019 at Ohio Cremation and Memorial Society, 5464 N. High Street, Columbus, OH 43214.
