Virginia “Ginny” Sanderson

Ginny Sanderson of Groveport, OH, died Saturday, December 29, 2018, of complications following surgery.  Born May 21, 1951 in Kansas City to Jack and Kathleen White, who, along with her loving brother, Jack Jr. preceded her in death (along with her buddy Buster).  She is survived by her husband Mike, daughter Rachel (Troy) Giles, and son, David, along with her grandchildren, Jordan, Jenny, and Jo Giles, and Andrew, Brady, and Finley Sanderson (GG to 6).  Until recently, she was a dedicated Episcopalian, serving the church in many functions; was also a proud Girl Scout, both as a member and leader; loved to be a ‘potter’ at the old Cultural Arts Center.  She treasured lessons learned in the Junior League of Columbus.  She lived a life loving the arts.  As the manager of ‘A Show of Hands’ (Lane Ave.) she treasured the friendships she had with numerous Ohio craft artists.  As the manager of the ‘Ohio Theatre Gift Shop,’ she was a great friend to many volunteers and thrilled in meeting many talented artists who played the theatre.  She was always outgoing, optimistic to a fault, and was never hesitant to befriend strangers.  She will be missed by a broad spectrum of friends.  A memorial for Ginny will be held at 11 am on Saturday, January 5, 2018 at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 333 Drexel Ave, Bexley, OH.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to either the Girl Scouts or the MidOhio Food Bank.

    Dear Mike, Rachael and David,

How saddened I was to learn of Ginny’s death. We were neighbors some years back in Bexley but we always continued to stay in touch. Ginny was so talented in so many ways and always willing to lend a helping hand. Ginny and Mike were the greatest Host & Hostess when it came to hosting a party.
Her death comes as a shock to so many of us. May your fond memories help to sustain you during this difficult time.
    My sincere sympathy.
    Peg Higginbotham

Mike, Rachel, and David. I was so surprised and saddened to hear of Ginny’s untimely passing. It has been many, many years since Rachel and David were in my sixth grade class. I have such fond memories of them. Mike, I also remember what dedicated and involved parents you and Ginny were. I would certainly come by to give my condolences in person but I recently took a fall and have a couple broken bones which makes me unable to drive. I will be thinking of all of you at 11:00 Saturday and in days to follow. I would love to hear from you Rachel and David and catch up. Mike take comfort in knowing how many lives Ginny touched.
