Worry Free Cremation™

To ease the concerns of a family in their time of need, we developed our Worry Free Cremation™ to give you a high degree of confidence in our cremation process here at the Ohio Cremation & Memorial Society. Here are the 10 steps taken every time we have the honor of serving a family in their time of need.

Ten-Step Identification Process:

1    Our “wrist identification band” is placed on your loved one when we come to your home, hospital or other care facility.

2    The cremation container is labeled with your loved one’s name when they are placed into our secure controlled temperature facility.

3    Your loved one is registered into our facility logbook with name, date, time, and driver’s name.

4    Cremation permits are reviewed to ensure they have been properly filed and received prior to scheduling the cremation.

5    For a nominal fee, our state-of-the-art cremation facility allows family members to be present when the body is placed into the cremation chamber. The certified crematory operator is the acting witness for all cremations.

6    Your loved one is removed from our controlled temperature facility and noted in our facility logbook. The log shows the date and time of removal for cremation and the crematory operator’s name.

7    Our crematory checklist contains the date, start time, and signature of the operator immediately before the cremation takes place.

8    The crematory checklist is placed on the control panel of the cremation chamber during the cremation process and at the same time a numbered metal identification disc is placed inside the cremation chamber.

9    After cremation, the cremated human remains with identification disc are removed from the chamber and taken to the processing station and allowed to cool. The crematory checklist and numbered identification disc are placed on the processing station until the cremated human remains are processed.

10    The number on the numbered identification disc and the cremation checklist are reviewed and matched. A cremation certificate and label are created prior to the placement of the cremated remains in the urn selected by the family.
